Right around the corner, yet far away from home
Our Cosy Cabins blend perfectly into the nature that surrounds them: a lush and green forest located near Martelange, Belgium. Every cabin has large steel windows, which really gives you the feeling of living among the trees and the experience of reconnecting to nature. The Cosy Cabins combine the charm of a wood stove, oil lamps and candles, with the ingenuity of a tiny house. They may look small from the outside, but inside you will find everything to live comfortably: a lot of cosy places to sit and relax, large comfy beds, a hot shower and a fully equipped kitchen. And, yes, it has a real toilet ;) Also every cabin has its own gas barbecue, perfect for outdoor cooking in summer and in winter!
We've designed our cabins with sustainability in mind. As the cabins don't have a solid foundation, nature is not impacted as much. So if we decide to remove a cabin we can easily do this without impacting nature in any negative way. Electricity is limited inside the cabins; the cabins are heated with a wood stove instead of a central electric heating, and the majority of light comes from oil lamps and candles, instead of electric lighting.
It’s all about modesty, roughness and respecting nature’s simple brilliance. Basically, Nutchel is embracing the idea that imperfection is an unavoidable part of life and thus trying to find the beauty of the simplicity this brings along. That’s why all furniture is handmade out of raw natural materials and why we did everything as ecological as possible, for instance by using almost exclusively reusable resources.
